The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association is committed to protecting your privacy and confidentiality. We are providing this notice to explain our information practices. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on every page of our Web site. By visiting the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association’s web site at www.mvdsa.org, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice. 
We are continuing to develop new resources to make the MVDSA’s web site more interactive and meaningful. In the future, we may need your feedback and participation to make our site more effective. To this end, we may request certain information about you and your needs. This information will allow us to better tailor our information for you. However, at this time, no personal data is collected on anyone visiting our website, unless you use the e-mail access provided. By using the e-mail access, you are providing us with your e-mail address, as well as any information you voluntarily provide us with.
We maintain any and all individual identifying information you might provide to us in strict confidence. Individual identifying information includes any information you might provide us with that could be used to individually and specifically identify or characterize you as a person. This includes any information which can be associated with a specific individual or entity, including, for example, individual's names, addresses or telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, credit card information and information about online activities that are directly linked to you.
The MVDSA does not divulge individual identifying information submitted to our organization to outside individuals or organizations except:

  1. As authorized by you- such as a story in our newsletter;
  2. As required by law;
  3. Statistical summary information, stripped of all individual identifying content. This information is used both to help us focus our resources where they are needed by the community we serve and in planning new services and upgrades of existing ones. To protect your privacy, any information we release to the public of this nature is completely anonymous with regard to any specific individuals who use our resources.

Occasionally, MVDSA may contact individuals who have provided us with their individually identifiable information in order to: 

  1. Conduct surveys seeking feedback. These surveys are used for quality assurance purposes, and to improve our level of service to you.
  2. Supply news and information. This may include Down syndrome information, the latest Down syndrome and other health news, current events, ways you can help, etc.

Donation Information
We maintain records of all contributions to MVDSA. Personal information is private and confidential. Additionally, all information is stored in a secure location accessible only by authorized staff. MVDSA may contact you with further communications.
In the case of memorial contributions and honor contributions, a personalized gift card is sent to a designated recipient, usually the family member of the deceased or the honoree. Therefore, we will request the name, address, city, state, zip code and telephone number for your designated gift card recipient. This information is only used for the purpose of sending the gift card.
You can choose to opt out of financial contribution activities or any contact from MVDSA. If you wish to restrict the use of your contact information, you may let us know by:

The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association goes to great lengths to protect the confidentiality and integrity of any personal information you share with us.
The MVDSA treats personal data as a critical asset that must be guarded at all times against loss and unauthorized access, online and off-line. This is accomplished through industry-standard computer security methods and strict internal administrative processes that limit the number of MVDSA members who have access to personal information.
