January 21st, Thursday, 6:30pm at the Job Center Cafeteria: For this month's general meeting we will have a guest speaker: Judy LaMusga, an attorney who specializes in advocating for people with disabilities. She will be talking to us about waivers. MVDSA will be providing Chic fil a chicken and beverages. If you plan on attending, please bring a side dish or dessert to share. We will begin eating at 6:30 pm and then we will have a short business meeting. Once our business meeting is over, Judy will begin her part of the evening. We hope you all can make it. February 20th, Saturday, 6pm: Movie Night - This month's meeting will be held on a Saturday instead of Thursday. We will be watching the movie "Lest We Forget: Silent Voices" at the Beiser Auditorium at Miami Valley Hospital. After the movie we will enjoy some desserts. Childcare will be provided. Please RSVP to the office at 937-222-0744 or office@mvdsa.org so we know how many children to provide childcare for.

Lest We Forget is a powerful and empowering journey through the first-person stories of people with developmental disabilities - once labeled "mentally defective" - who were sent away to state institutions. the film is an important and unusal effort to record and preserve these recollections of a little-known part of the civil rights movement before they are lost to history.
