NEW PARENT SUPPORT

The acceptance of Down syndrome begins with the preliminary diagnosis. To provide support for parents during this time, group members will gladly make hospital or home visits. Telephone calls are always welcome. We want to help because we have been where you are now. New Parent Packets can be requested by calling the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association office at (937) 222-0744 or by contacting a member of the Parent Support Committee listed below.

Early Intervention Programs have positively impacted many families. Through productive teaming, families and professionals can offer a learning environment that stimulates the young child and gives each child the opportunity to grow and develop to his fullest potential. In Ohio, Early Intervention Services for children birth to age three who have a diagnosed disability or developmental delay have been incorporated under the Help Me Grow Initiative.
